In October 2006 MAS sent out a survey to Maryland licensed acupuncturists who have never joined MAS (to ask them why they have never joined!) and acupuncturists who were members many years ago. Those who return the surveys have a chance to win a free MAS CEU seminar over the next year!

On October 2, 2006 384 surveys were sent out. This is the total number of currently licensed acupuncturists in Maryland who either have never been members or who have not been a member within the last 3 years, or who were members prior to 1997 (when the MAS started keeping good records of membership).

The returned surveys had to be postmarked by October 23, 2006 to be entered in the drawing for the free seminar. The surveys contained approximately 8 questions and contained an area on the bottom of the page to put name and phone number. This area was cut off the page and placed in a large jar with all the other entries. Doing it this way removes the names from the surveys and keeps the information confidential.

Two of the returned entries were drawn from the jar on November 1, 2006. The phone numbers on the drawn slips were called, and the winners had 36 hours to respond by telephone to claim their MAS seminar.

The addresses we used were obtained either previously from the acupuncturists because they were once members, attended a seminar, or purchased merchandise from us, or directly from the Maryland State Board of Acupuncture which supplies the work addresses of licensed acupuncturists.
