Get A National Provider Identification Number (NPI). After May 23, 2007 for all standard transactions, a covered health care provider (including acupuncturists!) may use only its NPI to identify itself as a health care provider.

Acupuncture Education

TAI Sophia Institute: founded in 1975 under the name Traditional Acupuncture Institute or TAI, this is currently the only Maryland acupuncture school.

Maryland Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine: also known as MITCM, provided TCM style acupuncture training between 1994 and 2002.
